Spring Beach
The Spring Beach house is a cliff house, perched on a steep slope overlooking Puget Sound. Every room enjoys the mesmerizing view of light on water and the distant Olympic Mountains
Due to the sensitive site soil conditions, the new house was placed over the foundation footprint of an existing house, built in the 1950’s. A diagonal path leads to the front door, past the floating steel stair, and then into the main living spaces. A long, sloping roof plane terminates in the glazed living space, with a terrace just outside. A contrapuntal roof slope defines the dining space, with oversized glass sliding doors leading to a spectacular deck with sweeping water views.
